A recently married couple who enjoy domestic life and entertaining needed their kitchen to be a much more workable space with room to navigate, cook, bake, and welcome friends. They wanted a space with character and a splash of color, specifically the KitchenAid ® red from some of their favorite baking appliances. Shaker-style cabinetry was customized for classic, durable style in white, balanced by black appliances and a black stain on the alder island. The wood floor was matched to existing wood flooring in other areas of the home. A backsplash of white subway tile with a stripe of custom red trim defines the space with a hint of vintage. An unexpected pop of red on the sink faucet is a fun touch of color. The island has seating for guests and a waterfall surface that allows for safe cooking on the countertop range while entertaining. Two ovens and a wine refrigerator round out the ample appliances in this welcoming and lively kitchen.
